- Clear Vegetation: Maintain a 30-meter defensible space around your home. This includes removing dead branches, leaves, and any flammable debris near your house.
- Use Fire-Resistant Materials: Consider using fire-resistant building materials, such as metal roofs and fire-resistant siding, for new buildings or renovations.
- Ladder Fuels: Trim branches within two meters of the ground and avoid having flammable vegetation close to structures.
- Storage Safety: Store firewood and other flammable materials at least 10 meters away from buildings.
- Install Sprinkler Systems: Consider installing an outdoor sprinkler system to keep vegetation damp during high-risk periods.
